Paul Heyman – Genius…Or Just Clever?

In 2004 while a guest on Canadian talk show Off The Record Vince McMahon was asked by host Michael Landsberg about Paul Heyman and Vince replied that Heyman was clever. When Landsberg pressed McMahon that perhaps Heyman was smarter than that Vince just subtlety smiled and repeated “clever” » Read more..

5 Men Who Won The World Title But Shouldn’t Have

A little while ago Addie wrote a blog highlighting 5 men who he felt were The Best Wrestlers To Never Be World Champion. Using that as an inspiration I’m going to highlight 5 men who wore 10 Pounds of Gold but never should have, excluding both Vince Russo & Davis Arquette from the conversation, because those are just too easy.

Great Khali

So it turns out it’s the 21st Century… somebody please tell Vince. In 2007 he

A site That sickens me to this day

decided Great Khali would be the right man to hold Smackdown’s top title when he won a Battle Royal for it when an injury to Edge caused it to be vacated. This was despite the fact that he had been given a huge push where he was getting clean wins over Mysterio, Kane, even Batista & The Undertaker in this era and still wasn’t over nearly as much as he should be. Of course that’s because he sucks. Truly, truly sucks. » Read more..

FreaXTVChannelE & Mo: WWE Monday Night Supershow part 2 of 2

Mo- Hey everyone here it is the long awaited 2nd part of FreaXTVChanelE‘s tremendous work getting rid of RAW and giving WWE a new face lift for Monday night’s. Part One is here if you missed it so no excuse to miss the fun, and you can view his work without my comments interrupting it over at his FXTVE-Rebooted blog

1.3 SuperShow Stats

To make this Section work, there would have to be a real change of style within the whole WWE setup, from the random approach of crow-barred Storylines and thrown-together Feuds, to a more structured and realistic ranking system and rival setup. This would of course mean some consistency from the writing team and thorough booking, but I’m sure if the fans are able to keep score (as it seems on the internet) then the writers really should.

So with a Trading Card theme for the Wrestlers, with flip reverse Card Stats (as illustrated below), here’s a look at how the Rankings and Matchup settings would be presented: » Read more..

Best Current Workers Of The WWE Style

I’m sure some of you have heard references to the different styles of wrestling without really understanding what they mean. For instance if Catch As Catch Can is referenced it means they are talking about the using hooks and holds to control the body in a Greco Roman Style in order to force positioning and perhaps submissions. Watch an old match where the guys control each other with armbars and headlock takeovers to see a good example of that.  The X Division Style refers to a fast paced action match full of high spots or stunts, and some say limited psychology. If someone refers to Japanese Strong Style they’re talking about a more hard hitting style where you take and deliver actual physical punishment in a worked way in order to showcase the warrior spirit so highly admired within the Japanese culture.

So how would the WWE style be described?

How about as Shawn Michaels. » Read more..
