Who Should CM Punk Face At Wrestlemania?

 CMPunkFists

At the Royal Rumble, a People’s Elbow ended the longest title reign that WWE has booked in a while. That elbow also started the Road to Wrestlemania and a WWE title match that is Twice In A Lifetime. It also left CM Punk without anything to do at the biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania. For months it was speculated, rumored, and even planned to have CM Punk face The Undertaker for The Streak in what undoubtedly would be one of the top matches on the show. Now comes word that The Undertaker may not be ready in time for Wrestlemania, or ever for that matter, and CM Punk may be in need of a Plan B. While Taker may go through with the match, which I personally hope and think he will do, here is a list that I have complied of possible alternatives should Undertaker be unable to work. » Read more..

The Future Of Fandango

I’ve seen the videos on RAW. I’ve seen John Bradshaw Layfield on twitter put over the fact that the man, Johnny Curtis, plays the gimmick, Fandango, perfectly and gets great heat. I’ve also heard the “no homework doing” commentator Jerry Lawler ask immediately following the vignette “what was that? Is he coming or something?”. The question I ask every time I see something related to Fandango is: SERIOUSLY? » Read more..

Bigger Douche – Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels

It’s been a while since we’ve had one of our comparison columns where we look at promos, workrate, or in this case douchi-ness. It’s topical given the release of RAW’s biggest writing douche, Brian Gewertz, and hell I’m in a bad mood anyway so why not look at who the bigger prick has been in their career. This edition looks at Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels. I just finished watching their Summerslam match on YouTube and started to make these comparisons. There are plenty of stories on each man so let’s go have a look!

The Best Wrestlers To Never Be World Champion

I was recently watching some wrestling from the past online (any listeners to our podcast will be shocked!) and Jim Ross put over that fact that, at the time, Rob Van Dam was the best wrestler to never have won the world title. As well all know, Rob would win the title at the second ECW one night stand by honorably declaring when he was cashing in the Money In The Bank briefcase against John Cena. This fact seems to have been forgotten about when the talk was John Cena was the first to give a cash in date against CM Punk at RAW 1000. RVD’s reign would be a short one, due tot he fact that he like to drive with his shirt off (amongst other things).

The point of this is that the statement Jim Ross made really got me thinking as to who really were the best wrestlers to never win the Heavyweight title. In today’s day and age the title is passed around to seemingly every guy getting a main event push in the company. “Back in the day”, when the Heavyweight champions had reigns that lasted for years or the men chosen for the title were limited to a select few, there were definitely many top notch wrestling talents that did not get a run with THE belt. So, as I got to thinking about it, here are some of the guys that could have had a chance as Heavyweight Champion and not dropped the ball, in my opinion. » Read more..

We Talk Wrestling July 01, 2012: You Want Promos, We Got Promos

(Explicit Content) Addie and Mo are here once again with a special episode of We Talk Wrestling talking about and playing the clips of some of their favorite wrestling interviews ever.

What all do they play and talk about? How about CM Punk’s earthshaking RAW shoot promo. Sgt Slaughter saying the Pledge of Allegiance to The Iron Sheik. Dusty Rhodes talks about hard times, and Archie “The Stomper” Gouldie bears his heart to you in response to Bad News Allen’s attack on his son just to start.

Also Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, Joey Styles, DDP, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper and the greatness of Owen Hart. This show was a lot of work to put together but worth it for the fun of listening back to almost 2 1/2 hours of some of the greatest talkers in some of their greatest moments that you remember and some you don’t, so be sure to listen for the most fun you may have all year and hit the share buttons to spread the word.
